Standing with Warriors: How Takedown Supports Mission 22
At Takedown Sportswear, we believe that athletic performance isn’t just about what you do on the mat—it’s also about the battles athletes face off the mat. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Mission 22, a national nonprofit dedicated to healing America’s veterans and ensuring no one fights their war alone.
About Mission 22
Mission 22 was founded to raise awareness and provide direct support for veterans and their families dealing with post‑traumatic stress (PTS), traumatic brain injury (TBI), military sexual trauma (MST), and the critical issue of veteran suicide. The organization’s name comes from a stark statistic: an estimated 22 veterans die by suicide each day.
Through no‑cost healing programs, memorial installations, community awareness campaigns, and a spirit of “it takes a community to heal a warrior,” Mission 22 gives veterans tools—and hope—for recovery and connection.
How Takedown Got Involved
When we at Takedown looked at how we could make meaningful impact beyond apparel, Mission 22 stood out as a cause that aligns with our values of community, authenticity, and high performance. So, when the opportunity arose to support and sponsor one of their recent awareness events, we stepped in—and what followed was nothing short of inspiring.
At the event, Takedown provided branded gear for staff and attendees. Fans, athletes, and team members rallied—some wearing our gear, others sharing stories, all contributing.
Together, we helped raise several thousand dollars for Mission 22’s vital programs. More importantly, we helped amplify the message: our veterans deserve the same level of preparation and support we give athletes preparing for competition.
Why It Matters
The ties between performance athletics and veteran resilience are deeper than they might first appear. Just like athletes fight for margins and muscle memory, veterans fight for reintegration, resilience, and reclaiming purpose. By supporting veteran wellness, we reaffirm that the struggle continues—just in a different arena.
We’re proud that our brand could be a small but meaningful part of this journey. Because at the end of the day, whether you’re suiting up for a fight or working to heal from trauma, the mission is the same: show up, fight hard, and know you’re not doing it alone.
BIG Thank You to everyone who joined us for the event, shared posts, and helped raise awareness.
Let’s keep pushing. Together.
